MU has $5B impact

A new study that measured the economic value generated by the University of Missouri System and its four universities shows a $6.5 billion impact on the state. MU contributed $5 billion to that total.

New name, website

The Office of Research and Economic Development has changed its name to the Division of Research, Innovation & Impact and unveiled a new website to better serve MU’s world-class researchers, scholars, innovators, entrepreneurs and industry partners.

Science fellows named

Three MU professors have been named 2021 Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science for their distinguished efforts in in medicine, veterinary medicine and public engagement in research.

MU's EBV program teaches participants key concepts of business ownership through workshops and lessons from entrepreneurial leaders and local partners. 

Upcycling and repurposing

When Mizzou law student Georgiana Gnibus started her company, Rad By Design, her friends joked that she was building a “tube top empire.” Now after selling an expanded inventory of hundreds of original designs to both men and women via Instagram and winning more than $2,000 in  funding, Gnibus has opened a brick-and-mortar store in the MU Student Center.
