About
The Griggs Innovators Nexus offers two incubator office spaces that Mizzou students can use to operate their own businesses inside the MU Student Center. The 100-square-foot offices in Room 1207 include furniture and access to collaborative spaces and are rent- and utility-free for one year. These spaces are ideal for e-commerce, software or other online/web-based ventures that do not require a brick-and-mortar storefront.
A committee will review applications and select finalists, who will each give a 10-15-minute presentation followed by Q&A. In April, the top two will be notified that they have been awarded incubator office space for the 2022-23 academic year. Each will be asked to sign a memorandum of understanding with the university that covers the office space terms of use.
Student entrepreneurs selected for the incubator office spaces receive hands-on experience, including developing a business plan, pitching a venture, leading a team, marketing and logistics. All are encouraged to seek a mentor.
At the end of the year, the entrepreneurs give a presentation describing what they learned and accomplished along with recommendations for program improvements.
