Service Request Form

For all new projects/service requests, we appreciate the opportunity to meet with you — whether in person, by phone, or by Zoom — to discuss your needs, limitations, timelines, and to find the best possible options for your available budget. Upon request, we can provide informal estimates following the above discussion of your research needs. Consultations are always free! 

We have moved to a new, simplified rate structure, with our in-house rates listed below (includes the four campuses of the UM System).

Sample Preparation Fees

  • General sample mounting and/or sputter coating: $5/sample

  • Advanced preparation, including cutting and/or polishing: $60/hour

  • Within the University of Missouri System, sample shipping will use campus or intercampus mail at no cost.

X-ray Microscopy (µCT)

  • Human-interface time (includes scan set-up, data processing, and reporting): $60/hour

  • µCT scanning: $125/hour

Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)

  • Human-interface time (includes scan set-up, data processing, and reporting): $60/hour

  • SEM scanning (includes imaging and EDS analyses): $95/hour

  • ATLAS automated large-area imaging: $70/hour

External & Expedited Services

We additionally offer services for clients outside of the University of Missouri System, at rate increases as listed below:

  • External academic analyses include a 40% surcharge.

  • Non-academic analyses include a 90% surcharge.

Finally, we know deadlines happen. We are happy to offer expedited services (when available) for a 60% surcharge. Please inquire with us if you need expedited services.

  • For any external services, return sample shipping will use USPS priority flat-rate or FedEx, plus packing materials, which will be included in your invoice.
