We customize and facilitate collaborative groups and events designed to help teams of researchers build new connections, identify new lines of inquiry and ideate around funding opportunities. Additionally, researchers can schedule a proposal consultation for assistance in refining project elements such as the development of logic models, timelines, project plans, etc.
If you are interested in a Team Science event or proposal consultation, submit a request. We will schedule a meeting to discuss your needs, establish a timeline and determine the next steps.
Connections café
A fun two-hour event designed to bring researchers together from across disciplines to meet, find research intersections and build new relationships. Request an event.
Who is it for?
Groups who need devoted time and space and time for building relationships and connections across disciplines, colleges or units.
Inspiration studio
A fast-paced four-to-eight-hour event for cross-disciplinary researchers to develop new ideas, identify emerging challenges and form interdisciplinary research teams. Request an event.
Who is it for?
This event is for groups seeking to identify promising lines of inquiry, grand challenges that participating researchers are well-situated to tackle. Our team will facilitate team formation, idea development and identification of potential partners. Follow-up support may include assistance in identifying funding opportunities and planning next steps.
Proposal acceleration lab
The proposal acceleration lab (PAL) is an intensive one-to-two-day workshop designed to help researchers ideate around a specific funding opportunity. Request an event.
Who is it for?
This event is for groups who have already identified a specific funding opportunity and want our team to facilitate an event focused on idea development, idea refinement and framework development. The PAL can also assist teams in identifying partners and creating workable timelines and achievable goals with support from the Strategic Proposal Development Service (SPDS) team as appropriate.
Proposal consultation
Proposal consultations are one-to-two-hour facilitated meetings to help teams with specific aspects of their proposal development. Activities may include: refining research objectives, developing a logic model/theory of change, identifying potential partners, NSF broader impacts support, etc. Request a consultation.
Who is it for?
This event is for a single team that is working on a specific proposal and would like us to facilitate a working meeting to help develop or refine their proposal ideas.
Research interest group
A research interest group (RIG) is a grassroots, faculty-led community of scholars who share a common interest in research theme or impact goal. RIGs foster interaction, knowledge sharing and collaboration among members, often providing opportunities for research ideation, public engagement and academic leadership.
If you are interested in having your RIG listed on the Division of Research website, please complete our brief form.
