Graduate research and training
The University of Missouri-Columbia (MU) offers outstanding opportunities for graduate research and training in the field of chemistry and biochemistry. Our graduates are highly sought after for jobs in industry, academia, and government. MU offers exceptional facilities for research including state-of-the-art nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometers. Additionally, MU encourages interdisciplinary research and our program is part of a campus-wide network of research programs including life sciences, genetics, nutrition and plant biochemistry.
Prospective graduate students should apply through one of our participating departments:
- Biochemistry
- Chemistry
- Molecular Microbiology & Immunology
- Undergraduate Research Experience
MU offers a variety of forums for undergraduate research experience, including the Life Sciences Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program, and individual research credit hours. Students interested in gaining research experience in structural biology outside the classroom should contact individual faculty members. Part-time student employment may also be available depending on laboratory need.
