Protect research enterprise

Effective April 1, 2026, principal investigators and key personnel on proposals for all federal grants or flow-through federal funding must complete Mizzou’s one-hour research security training before funding applications are submitted.

Brainy fun

More than 300 children and their families engaged with Mizzou faculty, staff and students on Feb. 28 at the Columbia Young Scientists Fair and Expo. See who had a booth and a photo gallery of experiments, discoveries and fun.

Facilitating room for ideas

Brainstorms don’t come without effort, and The Connector helps establish the right foundation for sharing via Research Interest Groups (RIGs). Read about how they help orchestrate these meetups so scientists can focus on the big ideas.

Handy for grant proposals

The directors of Mizzou's advanced technology core facilities recently updated descriptions of their equipment, instrumentation, expertise and services. Grant writers can copy and paste these facilities statements directly into their proposals.

Showcasing student research and creativity

Show Me Research Week celebrates the research, scholarly and creative accomplishments of undergraduates, graduate students and postdocs. Students should submit oral and poster presentations by March 31. Sign up to be a judge by April 3.

Funding for the new year

The Division of Research awarded another round of Research Council grants, an investment that gives investigators and creators a leg up when seeking external funding, publishing books and more.

Leveling up mouse model analysis

Many research questions depend on use of animal models, but new approach methodologies (NAMs) have received more attention since new 2025 guidance from the NIH emphasized a diversification of methods.

Our research keeps growing

Thanks to the hard work of University of Missouri faculty, staff and student investigators, Mizzou has seen 11 years of consecutive growth in research expenditures. Take a look at our 2024 annual report.
