Training in the core norms, principles, and rules governing the practice of responsible research is part of funding requirements of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). Refer to the MU Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) Sponsored Programs Procedure Guide for agency-specific requirements and related campus procedures.
The University of Missouri is a subscriber to the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program. The CITI Program curriculum includes modules for Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training in any of various academic disciplines. Successful completion of the CITI Program RCR training is used by SPA to certify training status.
Please note: CITI Program RCR training does not address the requirements for Institutional Review Board (IRB) training. For CITI Program IRB training, please review information for Human Subjects Research and the IRB submission/review process.
