Our services

The Animal Modeling Core (AMC) provides a variety of essential services associated with the generation and characterization of animal models as well as genome editing tools for virtually any in vitro or in vivo system.

AMC personnel provide expert advice on the design and approach used for generating animal models.

The AMC can make genetically engineered animal models using cutting-edge genetic modification tools such as the CRISPR-Cas system along with AAV-mediated and electroporation delivery methods. This is in addition to traditional approaches such as random transgenesis and embryonic stem cell modification.

In addition to providing fee-for-service to both internal (MU) and external (non-MU) users, AMC personnel are available to partner on grant applications by providing our expertise in molecular genetics, genome editing and animal modeling.
