University of Missouri researchers interested in applying this fall for funding from the the National Science Foundation’s Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) Program, must submit a concept paper by April 15 using InfoReady for Track 1, Track 2 or Track 3

Only those who submit a concept paper will be considered for this limited submissions opportunity and a chance to received multifaceted support from the Strategic Proposal Development Service team for a more compelling, competitive proposal. 

The goal of the MRI Program is to increase the availability and accessibility of scientific and engineering instrumentation for higher education and not-for-profit research organizations. The program supports both acquisition and development of instruments and invests in students by training them to become future instrument builders, designers and users. Cost share is waived for this year's solicitation thanks to the CHIPS and Science Act.

  • Track 1 allows two submissions and offers $100,000 to $1.4 million
  • Track 2 allows one submission and offers $1.4 million to $4 million
  • Track 3 allows one submission and offers $100,000 to $4 million.
