This principles and concepts section defines biosafety concepts including biohazardous materials, virulence, route of entry, viability, infectious dose, concentration, immune status, and biosafety containment levels (BSL1-4 & ABSL1-4) and infectious agent Risk Groups (RG1-4).

Experiment risk assessment

The experimental risk assessment involves identifying, evaluating and determining the proper controls and containment of biological hazards.

Application process

This section covers the MU process to acquire, purchase, gift/donate and exemption of biohazardous material.

  1. The process begins with becomming a Permitted Individual.

  2. Log into eCompliance to submit a new or renewal application.
