Institutions may only submit one application to the Faculty Development Grant Program.

The primary objective is to support scholarships for nuclear science, engineering, technology, and related disciplines to develop a workforce capable of supporting nuclear facilities and the safe handling of nuclear materials.

NRC provides funds for faculty development to tenure-track faculty in the first six years of their career who are committed to an academic career in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, Radiochemistry, Probabilistic Risk Assessment, Seismology, and related disciplines.

All supported faculty must be US citizens or a noncitizen national of the US, or have been lawfully admitted to the US for permanent residence.
