Participation includes serving as a lead organization on a non-collaborative proposal or as a lead organization, non-lead organization, or subawardee on a collaborative proposal.

The Traineeship Track is dedicated to training STEM graduate students in interdisciplinary research themes including Data-Enabled Science and Engineering (DESE), Understanding the Brain (UtB), Innovations at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems (INFEWS), and any other theme of national priority.  The Innovations in Graduate Education (IGE) Track supports testing of novel models or activities with high potential to enrich and extend the knowledge base on effective graduate education approaches.

The PI of a Traineeship Track proposal must be on the faculty of the submitting institution.  There are no PI restrictions or limits for the IGE Track.
