The amount available to support this program is FY 2015 is approximately $6,800,000. Of this amount, approximately $640,000 will be available to fund new CYFAR SCPs, which will have project periods ranging up to five (5) years.  The remaining $6,160,000 will be used to support existing CYFER SCP projects eligible for continuation awards.

Only one application may be submitted by each eligible institution.  Each eligible institution has the option of submitting either a regular or joint application to the CYFAR SCP program.

The mission of the CYFAR program is to develop and deliver educational programs that equip youth who are at-risk for not meeting basic human needs with the skills they need to lead positive, productive, and contributing lives.

The purpose of SCP funding is to improve the quality and quantity of comprehensive community-based programs for at-risk children, youth, and families supported by the Cooperative Extension System.
