Limited Submission AnnouncementThe Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is accepting applications for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) grant program. This is one of several IRS initiatives to provide free tax preparation service for the underserved low income population, which includes the elderly; disabled; limited English proficient; non-urban and Native American taxpayers. Because MU is limited to one application for this program,
letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu,
no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009. Letters
of intent should be limited to a 3-page summary, including 1) a brief
description of the existing or planned program, including evaluation
results if an existing program; 2) plan to recruit, train and manage
volunteers; and 3) the source of matching funds.
This notice is being sent to deans, directors, and chairs in health and life science disciplines. Please forward it to other faculty members who may be interested.
