Limited Submission Announcement

The American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF)/Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) Travel Awards support travel expenses to the ACC's annual scientific session. Judging is based on the applicant's major involvement in research activities leading to presentations and publications during cardiovascular-related subspecialty training.

The applicant must be from a training program in cardiology approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The ACCF/BMS Travel Awards are generally intended for, but not restricted to, trainees beyond their first year in a cardiovascular-related subspecialty training program. Nominees may also be entrants in the Young Investigators Awards competition, however, if the nominee is named as a Young Investigators Awards finalist, he or she will be ineligible to receive an ACCF/BMS Travel Award. Previous travel award winners will not be considered.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2009. Letters of intent should be limited to a 1-page summary of the applicant’s involvement in research activities leading to presentations and publications during cardiovascular-related subspecialty training and a 2-page biographical sketch of the applicant.

Amount:

Travel expenses not exceeding $1,250 will be reimbursed for each awardee's coach airfare, accommodations, and meals.

MU Deadline:

4:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2009
