Limited Submission Announcement

JAPAN PRIZE 2009 calls for entries of educational audiovisual multimedia products. Since its establishment in 1965 as an international educational program contest, JAPAN PRIZE has been contributing to the development of educational broadcasting around the world and to fostering international understanding and cooperation. In 2008, it evolved into the International Contest for Educational Media and expanded its target to include a variety of educational media using sound and images such as TV programs, videos, websites, games and other interactive materials. Educational programs that show high quality audiovisual effects using sound and images and contribute to the improvement of education worldwide will be awarded and include the following:

1. Linear content (The first broadcast, issue, or circulation date must have been between August 1, 2008, and July 31, 2009.)

2. Websites (The website must have been updated after August 1, 2008. It must be possible to browse the website in Tokyo between August 10 and October 28, 2009.)

3. Game software (The first sale or circulation date must have been between August 1, 2008, and July 31, 2009.)

4. Other interactive materials (The first sale or circulation date must have been between August 1, 2008, and July 31, 2009.)

The materials should have an audio-visual configuration that can be introduced through broadcasting because the entered programs may be broadcast in contest-related programs. The Audiovisual Division includes five categories: Pre-school, Primary, Teen, Continuing Education, and Welfare Education.
