NIH Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity (IMSD)
Limited Submission AnnouncementThe NIH Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity (IMSD) encourages undergraduate and graduate students from underrepresented groups to enter and complete doctoral programs in biomedical and behavioral fields. The program provides institutional support for existing or innovative student development activities, including research internships that will increase students' knowledge, skills, and information. Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2008. Letters of intent should be limited to 3 pages and should summarize 1) goals and measurable objectives for attracting, retaining, and preparing underrepresented group students for careers in biomedical and/or behavioral science research; 2) the institutional scope of the proposed program, including the potential impact on MU's academic programs for retention and graduation toward careers in biomedical and behavioral research; 3) proposed student developmental activities; and 4) the evaluation plan.
