Limited Submission Announcement

Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) has partnered with Oak Ridge National Laboratory to provide opportunities for meaningful faculty and student engagement with ORNL's leadership computing capabilities through the ORAU/ORNL High Performance Computing Grant Program. The goal is to expand the existing research initiatives of university faculty from ORAU member institutions or to create new research areas. The program is open to faculty-student teams proposing research in any scientific area. The proposed research does not have to be in computer science, but rather could be research in any scientific discipline that would benefit in some way from the application of high-performance computing resources.

Faculty-student teams must propose research that will use ORNL's high performance computing resources and that has significant scientific merit, develops or expands the faculty member's research program, and aligns with ORNL's cross-cutting science agenda (see http://computing.ornl.gov and www.jics.utk.edu/index.html).

Because MU is limited to two applications for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2008. Letters of intent should be limited to a 3-page summary, including 1) a brief description of the research project and 2) how this research project will develop or expand the faculty member’s research program, and how it will accelerate the research agenda of the student participant(s).
