Limited Submission Announcement

The Carnegie Corporation of New York is seeking nominations for the Carnegie Scholars Program. The aim is to build a critical mass of thoughtful and original scholarship that adds to the fund of knowledge regarding Islam as a religion as well as the cultures and civilizations of Muslim societies and communities, both in the United States and abroad. This will be the final year of competition on issues related to Islam and Muslim communities.

Because MU is limited to two nominations for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 pm Friday, July 18, 2008. Letters of intent should include 1) a one-page summary of the proposed project, and 2) a two-page biographical sketch of the nominee.

Amount:

Up to $100,000 for one to two years

4:00 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2008

Sponsor Deadline:

Nominations are due August 28, 2008. Proposals from invited finalists will be due the last week of November
