Limited Submission Announcement

In 2008, the Missouri Foundation for Health is refocusing Targeted Advocacy Project (TAP) funding to address the essential components of a strong and effective health care system for all Missourians: quality, affordability, and accessibility. Therefore, the Foundation will award TAP grants to innovative public policy projects directed at addressing one of these components. Applicants are required to enumerate specific policy goals they will work toward over the life of the grant.

Current TAP grantees continue to build on collaborative public policy advocacy efforts as they work to steer the conversation among the public and policymakers toward the need for all Missourians to have health coverage. From MFH’s perspective, the logical next step in building momentum towards the long-term goal of health coverage for all Missourians is to support specific policy efforts that work to define and create a health care system where Missourians can access quality care through affordable health coverage.

Because the University of Missouri System is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research,, no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, June 6, 2008. Letters of intent should be limited to three pages and should summarize 1) data to describe the policy issue to be addressed, 2) relationship to work already completed or currently underway in Missouri, 3) population to be served, 4) principal objectives, 5) synopsis of the proposed program, and 6) anticipated outcomes and indicators to measure success.

Organizations may request up to $125,000 per year for up to three years. Applicants requesting the maximum amount of funding must demonstrate support for the project from other funding sources in order to have a competitive application.
