Limited Submission Announcement

The NIH Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) training programs exist to significantly increase the number and competitiveness of underrepresented minorities engaged in biomedical research. Ancillary training may include support for student academic development and enrichment activities that are designed to improve critical thinking skills, communication skills, and time management; and may also provide group learning opportunities, interdisciplinary or advanced course training where students learn quantitative skills to analyze biomedical and behavioral problems, and opportunities to meet and discuss career choices with appropriate role models.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 pm Friday, May 30, 2008. Letters of intent should be limited to a 3-page summary, including 1) goals and objectives of the project, 2) plan(s) for recruitment and retention of students from underrepresented groups, and 3) plan for project evaluation.

Amount:

Variable, with the project period lasting no longer than five years
