The Missouri Foundation for Health requests applications for Assessment or Planning for Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse Programs. In order to successfully address the treatment needs of consumers, organizations must identify and quantify those needs to plan comprehensive treatments both programmatically and financially sound. Assessment or planning grants need not focus solely on youth. The intent of this funding is to pay for costs associated with the following:

  • Activities that define consumer needs, examine options for meeting those needs, and identify how the best intervention(s) can be implemented and supported; or
  • Designing, planning, and budgeting for the initiation or expansion of prevention and/or treatment programs.

Because the University of Missouri System is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research,, no later than 4:00 pm, Friday, February 1, 2008. Letters of intent should be limited to a two-page summary of the proposed project, including 1) type of grant (assessment or planning), 2) the evidence-based or promising practice, 3) the target population, 4) goals and objectives of the project, and 5) an estimate of the project budget.
