The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) recognizes that future improvements in the treatment and prevention of kidney disease will rest largely on the accomplishments of individuals now commencing their investigative work. Young investigators are often hampered in their progress by difficulty in obtaining suitable financial support for their research during the formative period of their careers. The NKF has established a Young Investigator Grant Program to help alleviate this problem. The purpose of the Young Investigator Grant Program is to support research in the fields of nephrology, urology, and related disciplines by individuals who have completed fellowship training and who hold junior faculty positions at university-affiliated medical centers in the United States. Eligibility:
Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 pm Friday, November 2, 2007. Letters of intent should be limited to a two-page summary of the proposed research and a two-page biographical sketch of the nominee.
