The RSNA Research & Education (R&E) Foundation Research Scholar Grant program is designed to support junior faculty members who have completed the conventional resident or fellowship training but have not yet been recognized as independent investigators. Research Scholars will devote a minimum of 50 percent of their time to the approved research project. Any area of research related to the radiologic sciences is eligible for Research Scholar Grant support.

Eligibility:

• Applicants should have completed their advanced training (fellowships, residency, doctorate) and be certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or on track for ABR certification.
• Applicants should be within five years of initial faculty appointment with an academic rank of instructor or assistant professor (or equivalent).
• Applicants must hold a full-time faculty position in a department of radiology, radiation oncology, or nuclear medicine within a North American educational institution at the time of application.
• Applicants should not have received a grant of $50,000 or more.
• Permanent residents and citizens of a North American country are eligible.
• Applicants must be nominated by their department chair.
• Applicants may not submit more than one research or education grant application to the RSNA R&E Foundation per year.
  

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 pm Friday, August 3, 2007. Letters of intent should be limited to a 1-page summary of the research questions and aims of the proposed project, and a 2-page biographical sketch.
