The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Education and Research Centers (ERC)(T42) that are focused on occupational safety and health training and research training. ERCs provide interdisciplinary graduate training and continuing education in the core disciplines of Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health Nursing, Occupational Medicine Residency, Occupational Safety, and other fields closely related to occupational safety and health. Research and research training are integral components of the ERC concept. ERCs are expected to undertake projects that have a focus on the translation of occupational safety and health research products into the practitioner environment.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 pm Friday, March 30, 2007. Letters of intent should be limited to a 3-page summary of plans for 1) the relevant accredited training programs, 2) continuing education programming, 3) center-wide outreach activities, 4) small/pilot research projects training, 5) recruitment, and 6) interdisciplinary coordination.
