The Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City (HCF) requests mental health proposals addressing three areas of significant need that emerged from 2004 health assessments: 1) co-occurring disorders; 2) depression; and 3) family, domestic violence and child abuse. Funded projects will be those that expand access and improve effectiveness of care for these disorders. Applicant organizations must maintain ongoing operations, including staffing and programs, within Kansas City, Missouri, and/or the Missouri or Kansas service areas (Missouri counties of Cass, Jackson, Lafayette; Kansas counties of Allen, Johnson, Wyandotte). All funded services/programs must be designed and carried out for the benefit of the target population living in these areas. Preference will be given applicants that leverage resources from other sources.

Because MU is limited to one submission for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 pm Friday, December 29, 2006. Letters of intent should be limited to 3 pages and should include 1) the problem or need to be addressed; 2) the purpose and activities of the proposed project; and 3) an estimate of the amount of funding to be requested, anticipated source(s) of cost match, and the proposed grant period.
