The Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards are intended to enrich the research and professional growth of young faculty and result in new funding opportunities. Full-time assistant professors at ORAU member institutions within two years of their initial tenure track appointment (2/2/2005 through 2/2/2007) at the time of application are eligible (See http://www.orau.org/consortium/programs/powe/powe-awards.htm for more information).

The research project must be in one of the following five disciplines:

• Engineering and Applied Science
• Life Sciences
• Mathematics/Computer Sciences
• Physical Sciences
• Policy, Management, or Education.

Because MU is limited to two applications for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, December 15, 2006. Letters of intent should be limited to 4 pages and should include 1) a summary of the proposed research, 2) a budget outline, and 3) a biographical sketch of the applicant.
