Creative Connections provides support for U.S. composers to participate in public activities related to specific performances of their original music. By supporting the composer's interaction with audiences, performers, arts organizations, and local communities, Creative Connections aims to increase public awareness and enhance the creative artist's role in society.

The Meet the Composer Fund accepts applications four times a year. Applications sent by U.S. mail must be postmarked by the following dates: April 1 for events beginning between July 1 and August 30; June 1 for events beginning between September 1 and December 31; October 1 for events beginning between January 1 and March 30; and January 7 for events beginning between April 1 and June 30.

Because MU is limited to one application per deadline for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 pm Friday, December 15, 2006. Letters of intent should be limited to a two-page summary of the proposed public activity, the composer to participate in the activity, his/her role in the activity, and the external deadline for which the project will be submitted.
