The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Special Fellow Award supports further postdoctoral training in leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma research for candidates who have completed a PhD, MD or DVM and at least two years of postdoctoral research experience, but does not hold an independent faculty-level appointment. Special Fellow applicants may have concurrent research support or may rely on their sponsors for research support.

Applicants should hold the PhD, MD, DVM or equivalent degree at the time the grant is initiated, and must be employed by an academic or nonprofit research institution or laboratory. A Special Fellow applicant should have completed a minimum of two years of postdoctoral training at the time of review (January 2007).

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research,, no later than 4:00 pm Friday, July 14, 2006. Letters of intent should be limited to a 1-page summary of the proposed research and a 2-page biographical sketch of the applicant.


$60,000 ($56,000 stipend and $4,000 institutional overhead) and is available for three years
