The Starbucks Foundation invites letters of inquiry from organizations that work with youth (ages six to eighteen) in arts and literacy or environmental literacy. The Foundation is especially interested in programs that successfully work across disciplines, reflect partnerships between formal and informal education systems, bring the voices of youth into the communities in which they live, and provide opportunities for Starbucks partners (employees of Starbucks) to become engaged in the mission of the applying organization in their communities.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research,, no later than 5:00 pm Friday, May 5, 2006. Letters of intent should be limited to a two-page summary of the proposed program, including 1) the proposed activities, 2) the target population, 3) sustainability of the project, and 4) any anticipated involvement by Starbucks employees.

The average grant is $10,000. Grants between $5,000 and $20,000 will be considered.

MU Deadline: 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2006 (letter of intent)
