The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) has announced support for a Structural Genomics Knowledgebase (hereafter, "the Knowledgebase") in support of the Protein Structure Initiative (PSI) and other related programs.  The Knowledgebase will be one component of the PSI Research Network along with three other components: large-scale production centers, specialized technology development centers, and a research material repository (RFA-GM-06-003). As a central information hub, the Knowledgebase will play critical roles in coordinating the efforts of the PSI centers, making their research products widely available to other scientists, and soliciting input from the scientific community to increase the impact of the PSI program.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 5:00 pm Friday, January 13, 2006. Letters of intent should be limited to 3 pages and should summarize the proposed project and how it will affect the efforts and impact of the PSI program.
