The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) was established to expand the global market for renewable energy and energy efficiency. REEEP now has funding from the UK government for projects, events, partnerships, and strategic regional programmes. In this fourth call, an emphasis is placed on energy efficiency; 65 percent of the projects selected will cover energy efficiency. Projects funded under REEEP should focus on at least one of the two major themes:

Finance: Due to the specific structure of renewable energy and energy efficiency systems (REES) projects - often small scale and/or off-grid projects - new and innovative financing measures are required to leverage the limited resources and to overcome market barriers.

Policy and regulation: Only in a supportive regulative and legal environment can the uptake of REES be ensured, investment risks reduced and market barriers eliminated. In order to achieve this, increased awareness and capacity of relevant stakeholders is necessary.

Because MU is limited to two applications for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 5:00 pm Friday, December 2, 2005. Internal letters of intent should be working drafts of the concept documents to be submitted to REEEP for the December 9 deadline.

Amount: about €70,000
