The Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences is intended to support early career investigators of outstanding promise in the basic or clinical sciences relevant to the advancement of human health. Each Scholar will receive $60,000 in support each year for four years. The fund may be used for personnel, equipment, supplies, or travel related to the Scholar's research in whatever way will best advance the research and the Scholar's career. Nominations are restricted to current junior members of the faculty (assistant professor or equivalent) who will not have been members of the full time faculty for more than three years as of July 1, 2006. Strong proposals will demonstrate particularly creative and innovative approaches. Risk-taking is encouraged.

Because MU is limited in the number of nominations it may make to the program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research,, no later than 5:00 pm Friday, September 23, 2005. Letters of intent must be limited to 2 pages outlining the proposed program of research. A current curriculum vita must also be submitted.

Amount: $60,000 per year for 4 years.
