The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will award Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Short-Term Institutional Research Training Grants (T35) to develop or enhance research training opportunities for individuals interested in careers in biomedical and behavioral research. The proposed training must be in either basic, behavioral, or clinical research aspects of the health-related sciences. This program is intended to encourage students to pursue research careers by exposure to and short-term involvement in the health-related sciences.

The training program must be in either the basic, clinical, or behavioral research aspects of the health-related sciences, and should be of sufficient depth to enable selected trainees, upon completion of the program, to have a thorough exposure to the principles underlying the conduct of research.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, 203 Jesse Hall, no later than 5:00 pm Wednesday, August 31, 2005. Letters of intent should be limited to two pages and should include a synopsis of the proposed training program, a list of anticipated faculty mentors, and a budgetary outline.
