The Dermatology Foundation Research Awards Program offers career development, fellowships and grant awards that are intended to advance the early research careers of individuals in dermatology and cutaneous biology. An emphasis is placed on supporting research that benefits the dermatology community at large. It is the expectation that the recipients of Foundation awards will be tomorrow's clinical leaders in dermatology, helping to shape the future of the entire specialty.

The foundation provides career and research support in the form of various career and development awards, fellowships and grants. The career development awards provide the potential for three years of salary support for junior investigators in the early stages of their careers. Foundation fellowships provide annual salary stipends to individuals who are in an earlier phase of their career and are not in faculty positions. Research grants provide seed money for a variety of dermatological research projects. A special program development grant is available to further the infrastructure of an existing department or division of dermatology.

Because MU is limited in the number of applications that can be submitted for each award, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, 203 Jesse Hall, by Friday, September 2, 2005. Letters of intent should be limited to three pages and address (in summary) the guidelines and requirements for the particular award you are seeking.

Amount: $10,000 - $55,000 depending on the category.
MU Deadline: 5:00 pm Friday, September 2, 2005
Foundation Deadline:

October 17, 2005
