The Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program provides discretionary funding to faculty in chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemistry at early stages in their careers. Criteria for selection include an independent body of scholarship and a commitment to education that signals the promise of continuing outstanding contributions to both research and teaching.  Nominees must hold full-time tenure-track academic appointments and are normally expected to be within the first five years of their independent academic careers.

Recommendations for awards are based primarily on the nominee's achievements as an independent faculty member and the judgment of the nominee's peers exemplified by letters of recommendation. Other factors considered include awards and honors, publication of research achievements in leading journals, and success in attracting funding of research. Because MU is limited to one nomination for this program, nominations must be submitted to the Office of Research, 203 Jesse Hall, no later than 5:00 pm Friday, August 19, 2005.  Nominations should be limited to a one-page letter of nomination and a 2-page vita for the nominee.

Amount: $75,000; Funds are normally expended over a period of five years.
MU Deadline: 5:00 pm on Friday, August 19, 2005
Foundation Deadline: November 10, 2005
