Limited Submission Announcement

Friends of Jose Carreras International Leukemia Foundation (FJCILF) invites applications for the E.D. Thomas Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. The foundation's goals are to support research into the diagnosis, prevention, and cure of leukemia and related hematological disorders.Candidates must hold an M.D. or Ph.D. degree and have completed at least three years of postdoctoral training but must be less than ten years from their first doctoral degree when the award begins. Candidates must be committed to the research goals of the foundation, must be able to devote at least 60 percent of their time to the project and must have a sponsoring institution with the academic environment to provide adequate support for the proposed project.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research,, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2010. Letters of intent should be limited to a two-page summary of the proposed research and a two-page biographical sketch of the applicant. Also include the names of three MU personnel who would be qualified to serve as internal reviewers for letters of intent under this program.


$50,000 for one year, renewable yearly for two additional years upon satisfactory performance. Indirect costs are not to exceed 8 percent and salary is not to exceed US $35,000 including fringe benefits, with the remainder for supplies and/or equipment.
