Limited Submission Announcement

The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) solicits applications to maintain and enhance the Protein Structure Initiative: Biology-Materials Repository (PSI: Biology-MR or MR) in support of NIGMS PSI:Biology projects. The Repository serves as a centralized site for the collection, maintenance, storage, and distribution of vectors and clones developed during the course of the structure determinations carried out by the PSI: Biology Centers. In this way, the MR plays a critical role in making these clones widely available to other scientists. The awardee will become part of the PSI: Biology Network Steering Committee and will work jointly with other investigators and NIH staff to manage the overall PSI: Biology initiative.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2010. Letters of intent should be limited to three pages and should include a summary of how the following main functions (further described in the FOA) will be addressed: 1) centralization and maintenance of the materials, 2) long-term storage and distribution of materials, 3) archiving the PSI clones, 4) quality control and standardization, 5) use restrictions, and 6) publicity and outreach. Additionally, please include names of three MU personnel who could serve as internal reviewers for letters of intent under this program.
