Limited Submission Announcement

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Asthma and Allergic Diseases Cooperative Research Centers (AADCRC) (U19) program will support centers that integrate clinical and basic research to conduct studies on the mechanisms underlying the onset and progression of asthma and allergic diseases including allergic rhinitis, chronic rhinosinusitis, atopic dermatitis and food allergy. The overarching goal of the program is to improve the understanding of the pathogenesis and diagnosis and treatment of asthma and allergic diseases, and to provide a rational foundation for the development of effective treatment and prevention strategies.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research,, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2010. Letters of intent should be limited to three pages and should include 1) the central scientific theme and how it is relevant to the pathogenesis of and intervention strategies for asthma and allergic diseases; 2) a brief description of each project and how the projects interrelate; 3) a description of resources, facilities and roles of each anticipated core; and 4) the names of three MU personnel who would be qualified to serve as internal reviewers for letters of intent under this program.


Up to $1,000,000 in direct costs per year for up to 5 years.
