Limited Submission Announcement

NFL Charities makes annual medical research grants that target sports injury prevention, injury treatment, and other related research that affects the health and performance of athletes. In 2010, the evaluation committee will place greater emphasis on projects conducting concussion and traumatic brain injury related research, cardiovascular research and MRSA infection research.

The National Football League is committed to supporting research and enhancing the body of scientific knowledge that will benefit all those involved in competitive sports and recreational athletic activities. Completed applications will be judged based on both scientific merit and clinical relevance, as well as relevance to the NFL.

Because MU is limited to two applications for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research,, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010. Letters of intent should be limited to 2 pages and include 1) a summary of the proposed project, and 2) its clinical and NFL relevance.


Up to $100,000 for a project period of 18 months. Indirect costs should not be included in the total project budget. NFL Charities' grants only fund direct research costs.
