Limited Submission Announcement

The St. Baldrick's Foundation, a funding source for childhood cancer research, is currently accepting applications for Infrastructure Grants from institutions with the potential to participate significantly more in childhood cancer clinical trials, but that are smaller or have barriers to greater participation due to a lack of necessary resources. Clinical Research Associate (CRA) support for approved Phase I or II studies would be a high priority, or start-up funding for approved reference laboratories that support novel clinical trials. Infrastructure grants are designed to provide a one-time infusion of funds to enable an institution to acquire the personnel (i.e., a clinical research associate) or resources it needs to reach its potential in broader clinical trial participation. The applicant should indicate how ongoing personnel costs will be born in future years.

St. Baldrick's Foundation funds may not be used for human embryonic stem cell research.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research,, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010. Letters of intent should be limited to three pages and should include 1) goals and objectives of the proposed project, 2) how the project will lead to broader clinical trial participation, and 3) how ongoing personnel costs will be handled in future years.
