Limited Submission Announcement

The Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) established the Healthy & Active Communities Initiative (H&AC) to respond to increased obesity rates in the state as a serious public health issue affecting the residents of the entire MFH service region. MFH will devote focused funding for direct program implementation, community education, improved community access, and local public policy development that addresses obesity prevention. This funding program supports projects that use a pre-selected menu of evidence-based, promising and/or innovative strategies to develop coordinated environmental and policy change interventions that prevent obesity. Each of three domains must be addressed: Access/Environment, Community Engagement, and Policy/Economics. At least one strategy must be chosen for each of the three domains (complementary strategies) for a concept paper to be competitive. A copy of the MFH matrix of domains and strategies is available in the MFH Request for Concept Papers and is pasted below this announcement.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research,, no later than 4:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2010. Letters of intent should be a draft version of the concept paper, as specified in the MFH guidelines.
