NIOSH Career Development Grants in Occupational Safety and Health Research (K01)
Limited Submission AnnouncementThe National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) invites grant applications for Career Development Grants in Occupational Safety and Health Research (K01). The goal of the NIOSH research program is to support research that is relevant and of high quality, and will have an impact in reducing occupational disease and injury. This program is intended to contribute to this goal by facilitating the preparation of the next generation of occupational safety and health researchers. Emphasis for funding is placed on projects that specifically address the priority goals of the NIOSH National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA). This industrial sector-based agenda has been developed to focus resources on priority problems that significantly impact the illness and injury burden on U.S. workers. Research training supported by this announcement may include a wide range of training modalities reflecting the diverse approaches needed to effectively address occupational safety and health problems. This K01 program will support new investigators only. Candidates up to and including associate professor are eligible. No career change candidates will be accepted. Because MU is limited to one application per cycle for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research, ltdsub@missouri.edu, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2009. Letters of intent should be limited to two pages and should include a summary of the research and career development plan and a two-page biosketch of the candidate.
