Limited Submission Announcement

The Dermatology Foundation Research Awards Program solicits applications for Patient Directed Investigation Grants. The purpose of these grants is to support medical and surgical dermatologic studies that have the potential to directly benefit patients. Funding is intended to enhance the career development of clinical investigators in the early stages of career development. It is the expectation that the recipients of this award will be the future clinical leaders in dermatology, helping to shape the future of the specialty.

Applicants must have an M.D., Ph.D., or D.O. degree and be an investigator in the early stages of career development.

Because MU is limited to one application for this program, letters of intent must be submitted to the Office of Research,, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009. Letters of intent should be limited to a 1-page summary including 1) the research questions and aims of the proposed project, and 2) how this project has the potential to directly benefit patients. A 2-page biographical sketch of the applicant should also be provided.
