Export Controls at MU
Welcome to the Export Controls Home Page for the University of Missouri-Columbia. University policy requires that all research conducted within the institution be consistent with the objective of building a premier, world-class destination university with an exceptional and richly diverse student body, faculty, and staff. At the same time, our status as a land-grant institution carries the additional responsibilities to the civic, economic, health and educational well-being of all Missourians. To that end, the University of Missouri Office of Research Compliance is working to support the vigorous pursuit of academic excellence with the highest levels of responsibility and integrity. It is the position of the University of Missouri Office of Research Compliance that research conducted by the faculty, staff, and students of the University of Missouri is in the public domain and considered fundamental research, as that term is defined in export control legislation promulgated by the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Department of State. Most University of Missouri research will therefore be exempt from export control licensing requirements. However, where export control regulations are applicable to our research activities, the University requires full compliance with the law. Export Controls Quick Facts (PDF, 76K)
